The group has been in operation since 1980 and provides carnival based arts and crafts activities for people between the ages of 6-60 (sometimes younger and older!) The organisation’s principle activities over the years has been support the band ‘s participation in the Notting Hill Carnival each August Bank Holiday.

Spirits Like the roots of the mangrove swamp, the free spirits are the players who hold the band together. The colours on the white are the roots of the mangrove swamp which bond and hold us together taking us to a new millenium. Weve
Still Got It The stripe represents the breeding place in which the large variety of fish and marine life breed, Just like them we breed a new generation to carry us through yet another year. Dedication This special section is to pay homage to our fore-fathers who helped the growth of mangrove mas band in the last 25 years, They are the deep heavy roots of the swamp. Helluva
Time Unlike the dark murky colours of the mangrove swamp the players in this section breath life into the band. The fluorescent colours depict the life form of the swamp.
